It is used as structural control agent in the preparation of silicone rubber, chain extender in the synthesis of silicone products and raw material for silicone oil synthesis. It is an important raw material for the production of silicone resin, benzyl silicone oil and waterproof agent. At the same time, it is easy to hydrolyze and can form alkali metal silanol salt with alkali metal hydroxide. It can also be used as crosslinking agent of RTV silicone rubber.

Storage and transportation characteristics

Avoid contact with oxidants and acids. Handle with care to prevent damage to packaging and containers. Fire fighting equipment and leakage emergency treatment equipment of corresponding varieties and quantities shall be provided. Empty containers may contain harmful substances.

[Storage precautions] store in a cool, dry and well ventilated warehouse. Keep away from fire and heat. The storage temperature should not exceed 30 ℃. The package must be sealed from moisture. Emergency treatment for leakage of dimethyldiethoxysilane

Evacuate the personnel in the leakage pollution area to the safety area, isolate them and strictly restrict their access. Cut off the fire. It is suggested that the emergency treatment personnel should wear self-contained positive pressure breathing apparatus and fire-fighting protective clothing. Do not touch the leakage directly. Cut off the leakage source as much as possible to prevent the confined space such as sewer and drainage ditch. Small amount of leakage: use sand vermiculite or other non combustible materials to absorb. Or burn on site under the condition of ensuring safety. Large amount of leakage: build a dike or dig a pit to receive. Cover with foam to reduce steam damage. Use explosion-proof pump to transfer to tank car or special collector, recycle or transport to waste disposal site for disposal.

First aid measures

Skin contact: remove the contaminated clothes and wash the skin thoroughly with soapy water and clear water.

Eye contact: lift the eyelids and wash with flowing water or normal saline. Seek medical advice.

Inhalation: quickly leave the site to fresh air. Keep respiratory tract unobstructed. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. If breathing stops, perform artificial respiration immediately. Seek medical advice.

Ingestion: drink enough warm water to induce vomiting. Seek medical advice.

Fire fighting method: spray water to cool the container. If possible, move the container from the fire site to the open area. Extinguishing agent: carbon dioxide, dry powder, sand. No water or foam fire is allowed.
